A performance with Leah Lakshmi Piepzna-Samarasinha
In this performance presentation, poet Leah Lakshmi Piepzna-Samarasinha will read from new and recent work focused on queer hard femme disabled poetics of color: the intersections of working class femme smarts and survival, crip world, femme on femme of color intimacies, and the rebellions and vulnerable strengths found therein. She will also read sections from her new memoir, Dirty River: A Queer Femme of Color Dreaming Her Way Home, and be available for a book signing and Q and A afterwards. This is part of a two day residency, which was sponsored by Ethics and the Common Good Project, Five College Queer Gender and Sexuality Conference, Queer Studies and Feminist Studies departments, Theatre Program, MOSAIC: The Five College Multicultural Theatre Committee, Community Partnerships for Social Change, Lebrón-Wiggins-Pran Cultural Center; office of accessibility services and resources, and the FPR-HC Program for Culture, Brain, and Development.
