Knowledge Commons Inquiry Center
Construction starts on Wednesday to create a Knowledge Commons Inquiry Center on the first floor of the library.
The Inquiry Center will connect Media Services to the Airport Lounge, and the newly renovated space will be a flexible and accessible space for students to connect with peer mentors for research, instructional technology, speaking, writing, quantitative skills, and student success coaching.
The renovated space will include a workshop classroom where students will be able to practice presentations and private and collaborative workstations to meet one on one with peer mentors and alumni fellows.
The timeline for the renovation is March, 2017 – June, 2017.
To make room for the renovation, Media Services has moved its post production equipment into Advanced Media; the circulating 16 mm film collection to the Five College depository; the circulating DVD’s and VHS films out of closed stacks; and will archive rare 16 mm and VHS at Northeast Historic Film.
