This film, starring the writers/directors Silas Howard and Harry Dodge as Shy and Valentine, chronicles a queer friendship in a world that refuses to explain itself. As a low budget flick, the brilliance of Howard’s and Dodge’s filmmaking lies in the narrative, particularly Valentine’s narrative, whose queerness (as discussed by Jack Halberstam in In a Queer Time and Place) points to alternative ways of being in the world. If you enjoy an original and heartwarming story about friendship and the families and homes we choose, is for you.
