hampshire connections: preschool collage art
Our library was full of laughter and curious questions last week, during the visit of the preschoolers and toddlers from the Early Learning Center. The children aged 2-5 came over to hang up their beautiful canvas made with tempera paint and natural materials.
Undertaken over the course of a month with many sessions of painting, collecting natural materials and collaging them onto the canvas, this artistic creation is a part of a larger Campus Connections program of the Early Learning Center which focuses on building more connection with Hampshire College Campus spaces and Hampshire College staff and faculty. The preschoolers have given the canvas to the Harold Johnson Library as a “thank you” gift for the on-going story hours offered by the librarians over the school year of 2013-2014.
Please come see the artistic work of the young people currently displayed across from the elevators on the first floor of the Harold Johnson Library.
