The Knowledge Commons Peer Mentorship Program is HIRING!

The Library is looking to hire 2-3 peer mentors in the Knowledge Commons for the Spring 2018 semester.

The Knowledge Commons is a collaboration between students, faculty, staff, and alumni to create a centralized place where students can access writing, speaking, quantitative skills, media, library research, technology, holistic student learning &  art installation support. Students can consult alumni fellows trained in skill sets unique to their departments. Self-serve resources and programming are also in development.

Mentors will hold consultations with students seeking academic and project help in the library, guiding through and making referrals to library and academic resources in the Knowledge Commons. Peer mentors will be library ambassadors to students, connecting students to resources, shaping institutional knowledge about what student needs are, and taking an active role in shaping what interacting with the library looks like.
Peer mentors in the Knowledge Commons will be participating in a pilot program of peer mentorship in the KC, having the opportunity to grow as on-campus leaders in shaping what access to academic resources looks like at Hampshire College, and to be trained in library an academic resources that can be applied to their own courses of study.
Open to Division II or III students. $11/hour, 10 hours/week (Work Study package not required).
Come to an info session JANUARY 30th, 3:30-5PM in the KC CLASSROOM to learn more about this opportunity! Snacks and light refreshments will be served!
