New! Scholarly communication guide for faculty

We have had some great conversations these past couple of weeks about author’s rights and the use of images in scholarly publications.   We hope to have more in the future!    In the meantime, if you’ve ever wondered about retaining your rights as an author or creator, image copyright, where to find public domain or rights-free images or videos, or want to know more about open access, see our new guide to all of these important issues.

And in the meantime, the librarians are always available for questions regarding any aspect of author’s rights or image rights.

  • Do you know what you are agreeing to when you sign a copyright transfer agreement?
  • What are strategies for negotiating copyright with publishers?
  • Have you ever wanted to use someone else’s poem in your own painting?
  • Do you need to find images to illustrate an article you’re writing?

Before signing your next publishing agreement or copyright contract or paying hundreds of dollars to license an image, come talk to your friendly librarians first!
