Free for you to use! SureChem’s 15 million patented chemical structures – extracted via data-mining software – allows anyone to search and browse. Originally a 4-Terabyte commercial database, it was recently transferred to the European Bioinformatics Institute (EBI), which worked to make the data open. This is especially important for those in chemistry and drug development/discovery – many of the resources available to chemists are prohibitively expensive. This is a big step towards providing accessibility to all types of data!
Happy searching, and as always, if you have any questions, ask your librarian!
