Did you know that these are just a few of the most frequently banned or censored books in the U.S. over the past decades?
Banned Books Week 2013, September 22-28, celebrates more than thirty years of the freedom to read – not only to choose what we read, but also to select from a full range of possibilities.
Here at Hampshire we are celebrating Banned Books Week with a book display in the library of the most frequently banned classic books (see how many you have read!) and a film series that explores the theme of censorship in four popular movies: Farhenheit 451, Good Night and Good Luck, The People vs. Larry Flynt and Cinema Paradiso. Films will be shown in the library basement screening room at 7pm, Monday through Thursday.
