Graphic Novel Fridays
Join librarian Natane Halasz every Friday between 12pm and 1 pm near the games collection on the main floor of the library. This is very informal – come as often as you like, stay for a few minutes or the whole hour. No pressure to discuss the books unless you want to – feel free to kick back and read silently. One of the beauties of graphic novels is that they are a quick read – low commitment when you’re busy but need a break. Or, bring your own graphic novel-in-progress. and use the time to work on it Natane will provide multiple copies of recently published YA graphic novel memoirs, and to-go snacks.
Titles may include: Dancing at the Pity Party: A Dead Mom Graphic Memoir by Tyler Feder; Flamer by Mike Curato; No Ivy League by Hazel Newlevant; Almost American Girl by Robin Ha; Gender Queer: A Memoir by Maia Kobabe; andjuliet Takes a Breath by Gabby Rivera (author) and Celia Moscote (artist). Recommendations welcome!
