Read a poem a day by a Black poet for the rest of the summer
Poem a Day states on their web site that they are “the original daily poetry series publishing new work by contemporary poets.” You can sign up to receive a new poem each day.
In solidarity with recent protests and the Black Lives Matter movement, Poem-a-Day is now featuring Black poets throughout the summer. From July 20–July 31, Mahogany L. Browne is the curator for this series.
Each poem has an audio feature where you can hear the author read the poem and also read a blurb about the author’s thoughts, description, and background on the poem. Check it out, and let us know if you come across poets whose work we should purchase for the Library.
