In this short clip, Dr. ʿAbd al-Baset Sayyid of the Egyptian National Research Center speaks with an unnamed cohost about what he claims NASA astronauts saw concerning Earth.  He states that NASA found that the Ka’ba emits radiation.

The Ka’ba is the stone structure in the center of Mecca, Saudi Arabia, which marks the direction of prayer for Muslims.

The original broadcast was on Al-Majd TV (Saudi Arabia), 16 January 2005.

Evaluation:

All the mentions of Islam here are with the bounds of what Muslims have historically understood as acceptable.

The Earth emits all sorts of radiation all the time.  Radiation is just “energy that comes from a source and travels through some material or through space. Light, heat and sound are types of radiation.” (https://orise.orau.gov/reacts/guide/define.htm)  The planet has innumerable sources of energy, largely human-created, including in Mecca.  For more on radiation from Earth, see The Earth Radiation Budget Experiment (ERBE).

There is no historical basis for this claim.  There is no indication of when this was observed.  Neil Armstrong is mentioned; he flew space missions from 1966-1968, long before the World Wide Web was widely available (early-mid 1990s), or personal computers made it possible for non-scientists to access it (early 1980s).
