This is a clip from a Harun Yahya group video that has been edited, apparently by Muhammad Ovais Siddiq, a blogger active 2011-2013.  The clip includes the “expansion of the universe” segment from “Miracles of the Quran”, with a new front bumper and the blogger’s name superimposed on the video.  It also includes a back bumper with the blogger’s email address and other contact information.

The video itself discusses how ideas about the universe have changed over time, mentioning some of the scientists involved from the early 20th century.

This is an example of how video clips are altered and circulated anew.

Evaluation:

The presentation of only one possible interpretation for the Qurʾānic material is not considered acceptable by most Muslim scholars of the Qurʾān, particularly without considering the Arabic text.

The limited science depicted in the video is reasonable. The universe – as we know it today – is indeed expanding. However, science is being used solely for the purposes of demonstrating the miraculousness of the Qurʾān (iʿjāz).

The suggestion made at the beginning of the video, that the Qurʾān is a book of history would not be accepted by most contemporary historians.
