Black Holes, Miracles / Ijaz

Zaid Kasim Mohammad Ghazzawi

Zaid Ghazzawi uses the Qurʾān to suggest ways to understand black holes and their function in this vlog, a form of iʿjāz.

Topics included are gravitational forces, string theory, vibrating strings, weaved ropes.

Evaluation:

The material on Islam generally conforms with contemporary mainstream understandings.

The science presented makes some accurate claims but other that are unclear.  The claims are used to support a purposeful “orderly” theory of the universe, which is not accepted by a majority of astronomers.

The language used conforms more the descriptions in the Qurʾān than that of astronomical observations, which makes it difficult to confirm similarities.

There is insufficient historical content on which to base an evaluation.

About Zaid Kasim Mohammad Ghazzawi

Zaid Ghazzawi is an advocate for a new way of teaching and educating people using the Qurʾān.

Ghazzawi holds a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering.  He studied at the University of Surrey in the United Kingdom, receiving a Masters of Science and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering in 2003 (LinkedIn shows the same four years for both his undergraduate and graduate work). Ghazzawi’s approach to education relies on finding direct solutions to life problems through applying the knowledge found in the Qurʾān.  An example of this may be seen in his proposal for a TV program.

Ghazzawi is primarily known on video for his scripted video blogs in both English and Arabic.  In addition, although he has not been active on the platform since 2012, Ghazzawi’s YouTube channel allegedly has hundreds of videos and around 39,000 subscribers. A collection of his written work can be found on his Scribd page.

The web site that is often advertised on his videos, www.quran-miracle.com, does not now (July 2015) work.
