Cultural Organizing for Community Change Workshop
This workshop provided an opportunity for for Holyoke residents, organizers, educators and artists to learn effective ways to engage their creativity in organizing for community change. This effort was a part of the “Holyoke Visible” project, which seeks to harness the visions and challenges, the resources and identities of Holyoke’s people to bring to life a series of creative events—art, meals, performance, conversation—around the shared spaces on which the future of Holyoke is being made. Our hope is that by looking openly and honestly at the city we can build the connections, between art and people, between one group and another, between the city and the neighborhoods, between business and workers, in support of meaningful economic and community transformation. A key partner in this workshop is Arts & Democracy and Ethics & the Common Good Project.
