Janet Axelrod

Janet Axelrod began her fundraising and grantmaking career as the first staff person at the Haymarket People’s Fund in Boston, MA. She has since worked with countless progressive organizations and businesses on fundraising, human resources and resource management including the Lotus Development Corporation where she created the company’s employee -directed foundation, whose primary mandate was to fund anti-racist work. She was a staff person at Blackside, Inc, during their production of the award winning history of the civil rights movement, Eyes on the Prize. She chairs the Board of Trustees of the Cambridge, MA public library and is a founding board member of that library’s foundation as well as of South Africa Partners. Her newest venture, Wealth Matters, is a vehicle for offering balanced counsel on having and giving wealth.
