A public lecture with German biologist and eco-philosopher Andreas Weber

German biologist and eco-philosopher, Andreas Weber asks a radical and challenging question: Could it be that our planet is not suffering primarily from a financial crisis, or even an ecological one, but from a critical lack of love?

In this talk, Weber will weave personal narrative and cutting-edge biological philosophy to emerge at a “poetic ecology” which offers a new approach to the biological sciences that puts the human back in nature. He argues that to deconstruct the depth of our alienation from nature, we need to recognize and accept that feelings and emotions are the very foundation of life that intimately connects our species to everything that surrounds us, showing that subjectivity and imagination are the prerequisites of biological existence.
