Join us online for a tour of the R.W. Kern Center. Learn about rainwater collection, natural greywater treatment, composting toilets, renewable energy and more ways our building contributes to a better environment.
There are three tours over the course of the day, each tailored to a different audience. Feel free to join for a specific content area, or just choose the time that works best for you and come along for the ride!
10am: Kids & Family
Gather the family for an all-ages exploration of the RWKC. We’ll check out the composting toilets (poop jokes welcome), learn about where our water and energy come from, and see some of the cool tech that makes our building environmentally friendly.
12pm: Design & Building Nerds
Bring your geekiest greywater questions and nerd out with fellow design, engineering, and building folks. All in-person attendees will receive an RWKC mechanical pencil to inspire future green buildings!
4pm: Homeowners & General Public
Wondering what green building elements you might be able to incorporate into your own home? Curious about how our building works and how it contributes to a sustainable environment? Let’s tour!
Bring your questions! This is an interactive tour, and content will be based on attendees own interest and knowledge.
