Wasn’t this also a synthesizer? I am not sure I recorded much, but I definitely played with the Synthesizer.

There was an awesome analog synth over in the music building in the 80s. Took an electronic music composition class (taught by Dan Warner) that I was very curious about, but alas, turned out to be very bad at!

There was first a Moog synthesizer in Franklin Patterson Hall. It was stolen. (About 1973) Then there was an Arp.

There was still a Moog mixing board, though. I think I read somewhere that it was one of the only ones Moog ever built.

I recorded parts of my first album in that studio. The big synth was an ARP 2500, which was awesome except for its ongoing maintenance needs. I studied with Randall McClellan. I’d love a few days of access to that studio now (time machine?)!

Remembering Buzz Goddard, Caleb Weissberg, Craig O’Donnell, and Jim Whittemore, John Zieman over from UMass, and many more lost in the haze of memory. Jan Swafford, composer, who I hung out with for a few years. Roland Wiggins, Vishnu Wood, and later, James Baldwin (his effect on all of the arts was very remarkable!

Is that Craig O’Donnell and Jim Wright in the photo, ca. ’76?
