What is the Urban Agriculture initiative?

Text reads "Urban Agriculture" over an urban agriculture site. A banner at the bottom of the image includes a simple shape of the R.W. Kern Center and reads: 100 Days of Building Solutions.

One of the key changes to the Living Building Challenge in its 4.0 iteration was the inclusion of the Urban Agriculture initiative. This addresses accesibility to fresh food and aims to look at sunlit indoor and outdoor space as a community resource to provide a food network for all. Some examples of urban agriculture include rooftop gardens, fruit tree harvest, permaculture, backyard gardens, front yard gardens, ROW gardens, and wall gardens.
