Our energy efficient glass construction | R.W. Kern Center

Commercial Architectures commends the R.W. Kern Center on our innovative design and use of glass, calling it a “building that creates more resources than it uses.”

The central, two-story glass pavilion was fabricated with low-e glass that provides thermal insulation with passive SHG and high VLT for an abundance of daylight, while also meeting strict Massachusetts building codes for energy efficiency. The triple-pane configuration includes a solar-control low-e coating on the number 2 surface and passive-solar coating on the number 5 surface for improved thermal insulation.
