Yaritza Bushell | Grant Recipient

Yaritza (Yari) is a Division III student at Hampshire concentrating on community organizing and visual arts. As an active member of the Hampshire community over the past four years, she is using her Division III project as an initiation for change and reimagination of student autonomy on Hampshire’s campus. Every week, Yari and her fellow student Daisha hold space together at the RWKC for student-led activities, conversations, and social time as part of The We Belong Project. Through the reclamation of the RWKC space on Sundays, they hope to push for a student center on campus—one that is invested in by the college to better student academics and social life.
