The objective of this co-curricular course is to introduce students to a range of issues that are frequently encountered when designing and fabricating interactively moving parts, whether in practical mechanisms, kinetic sculpture, or anything else. You will gain familiarity with basic mechanics, components, design methods, and fabrication processes that will prepare you to pursue kinetic projects. Class meetings will include both classroom and shop time, with the second half of the semester dedicated to individual project work of your choosing.
