The Hampshire College Archives would like to thank the Time and Narrative Learning Collaborative for hosting an excellent panel discussion on History, Archives, and Archival Research yesterday. We’d also like to thank everyone that attended the event.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The panelists, which included faculty, students, and staff, shared their experiences of pursuing knowledge from archival records, often in the face of challenges such as omission and secrecy in historic documents, fragmentation of collections, and counter-intuitive means for discovery of relevant materials. Strategies for persevering and overcoming these challenges were discussed, along with insight into archival practice.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
Overall, it was a compelling introduction to the work we do in the archives (both as archivists and researchers) that resonated with common themes across the panel. Here’s hoping for a follow up discussion sometime in the future!!<\/div>\n
