At\u00a0the very center of the Movable Artist Books display is the work of Hampshire student artist Sarah Jane Young. Some of her selected works focus on different ways of unfolding that shift and innovate bookbinding norms, while others stay rooted in traditional methods. Throughout all her creations, though, Young is able to bring the tactile feeling of a soft and tender home into each fiber in mysterious ways. “These pieces are a sampling of my endeavor to experiment with and push the boundaries of what is expected of a book. After focusing on traditional book and pamphlet-style binding, I determined a few bookbinding techniques of my own.
