Post number three in our series on how we got to a twelve-seed seed library!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Wow! Lots of big updates to the Seed Library, but I\u2019ll keep it short.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve collaborated with our local cataloger, and we\u2019ve added a sample vegetable into the catalog. It\u2019s mostly right, we\u2019ve got a few tweaks and a few more keywords, and now I\u2019m just waiting for the other 11 beans and veggies to be uploaded!<\/p>\n

The card catalog is also ready: the rods from the drawers have been removed, and we\u2019ve added labels to the appropriate drawers. Again, we\u2019ve only got the \u201ceasy\u201d varieties of seeds in the seed library at this time, so the selection is a little limited, but as the semester progresses we\u2019ll continue to grow!<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve also made one edit to the seeds I\u2019m offering: We\u2019ll still have the Beans, Lettuce, Peas, and Tomatoes available, but it turns out Chives are of \u201cmedium\u201d difficulty because the cross-pollinate very easily. So I\u2019ve removed the Chives and added tasty, tasty Black Beauty Eggplant.<\/p>\n

I generated a small Donation slip (borrowed heavily from the Pima County Seed Library\u2019s <\/a>Donation Form<\/a>) for students to fill out when they are able to return their seeds.<\/p>\n

Finally, I\u2019ve created a LibGuide <\/a>(also borrowed heavily from the Pima County Seed Library\u2019s website<\/a>)! It\u2019s still in its infancy, but it\u2019s got lots of helpful hints and tips on using the Seed Library, as well as links to more literature.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve still got to sort the seeds into packets, and print out some pamphlets and leaflets. And then there\u2019s the issue of workshops, but that\u2019s something I can focus on later in the year!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n
