Did you know that these are just a few of the most frequently banned or censored books in the U.S. over the past decades?<\/p>\n

Banned Books Week 2013, September 22-28,<\/b> celebrates more than thirty years of the freedom to read \u2013 not only to choose what we read, but also to select from a full range of possibilities.<\/p>\n

Here at Hampshire we are celebrating Banned Books Week with a book display in the library of the most frequently banned classic books (see how many you have read!)\u00a0 and a film series that explores the theme of censorship in four popular movies:\u00a0 Farhenheit 451, Good Night and Good Luck, The People vs. Larry Flynt <\/i><\/b>and Cinema Paradiso<\/i><\/b>.\u00a0 Films will be shown in the library basement screening room at 7pm, Monday through Thursday.<\/p>\n
