The Reader

The Reader exhibits a sample of visual submissions to The Reader, Hampshire’s longest running literary magazine.

In this exhibition, we don’t read these images in relation to biography, an artist’s body of work, the context of creation, or a close formal analysis of the image. Rather, these images are knotted together through shared distribution in The Reader. Presented in quick succession, the exhibition contains as many frames of discrete images as there are of two images fused into one: not the separating-out of analysis, but the combination of a complex.

The Reader is accepting submissions until March 1, 2015 extended to March 5, 2015. All submissions are anonymized prior to review. Submissions and any inquiries should be sent to reader@hamphire.edu.
