About the ICP
The Institute for Curatorial Practice at Hampshire College is a five-week intensive summer program focusing on the study and practice of curation through theory-based study, museum and alternative art space visits, and digital exhibition production. The Layered Image was organized by Mo Chen, Isabella Galdone, Zixi Liang, Selena Shabot, Aidan Shaw, Lynn Smith, and Esther Tobe.

About the Curatorial Team
Mo Chen studies at Oberlin College and majors in Art History. She is particularly interested in 19th and 20th century modern art and contemporary Chinese art.
Zixi Liang studies Mathematics and Film and Media at Amherst College. He is interested in experimental film and video curation.
Isabella Galdone studied Art History and French at Smith College, and is traveling to England in the fall with the Phyllis Lehman travel award to study Victorian medievalism through the lens of Pre-Raphaelite interpretations of Arthurian legend. Her interests include exploring the intersection between visual art and literary narrative through curation, Victorian studies, and representations of gender and sexuality in medieval art.
Selena Shabot is a graduate student at the University of Massachusetts Amherst focusing on twentieth century art and museum practice. She earned her B.A. at Clark University.
Aidan Shaw attends St. John’s College in Annapolis, MD, where he studies the Great Books, which includes classics, literature, and philosophy.
Lynn Smith currently goes to Ithaca College, majoring in Cinema and Photography with a concentration in Still Photography and minoring in Classical Studies and Art History. She is interested in Museum Studies.
Esther Tobe goes to Drew University is majoring in Art History and Business Studies with a minor in French. She is interested in Museum Studies and Art Finance.
