AgitArte<\/a> is an organization of working class artists and cultural organizers that creates projects and practices of cultural solidarity with grassroots struggles against oppression, and proposes alternatives for transforming our world.<\/p>\n This October, four members of AgitArte\u2014Jorge D\u00edaz Ortiz, Dey Hern\u00e1ndez, Sugeily Rodr\u00edguez Lebr\u00f3n, and Agust\u00edn Mu\u00f1oz R\u00edos\u2014will give a series of campus and community presentations based in their more than twenty years of collective, collaborative work. Their presentations will include ‘Solidaridad y sobrevivencia para nuestra liberaci\u00f3n\/Solidarity and Survival for Our Liberation,’ a recent cantastoria created by Papel Machete<\/a>, AgitArte\u2019s theater collective, in the aftermath of Hurricane Mar\u00eda, and ‘End the Debt! Decolonize! Liberate! Scroll Project,’ a collaboratively produced, collectively experienced art object that visually unfurls a history of colonialism and resistance in Puerto Rico.<\/p>\n AgitArte\u2019s residency takes place in conjunction with the installation ‘The Museum of the Old Colony’ by artist Pablo Delano<\/a>, on view in the Hampshire College Art Gallery until November 11th.<\/p>\n Wednesday, October 24th<\/strong><\/em> This residency and event are co-sponsored by the Five College Lecture Fund and Jackie Pritzen Fund, Five College Latin American and Latinx Studies, the UMass Department of History<\/a>, The Common literary journal, Arts at Amherst and classes at Amherst College<\/a>, the Weissman Center for Leadership<\/a> at Mount Holyoke College, and, at Hampshire College: the Humanities Program, the Studio Arts program, the Theater program, Ethics & the Common Good Project<\/a> (ECG), Community Partnerships for Social Change, and the Office of Multicultural Education and Inclusion.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Wednesday, October 24th from 6:30-8:30pm, Hampshire Art Gallery<\/b>
