Skaller, Wolf

Wolf Skaller: I am a Division I student at Hampshire College, studying education and theater. I have worked as a theatrical educator, preschool teacher, and in multiple political campaigns. I plan on continuing my work as an artist, activist, and teacher for many years to come.

Gabby Jack has been a counselor at Windsor Mountain International Summer Camp since 2014. She recently became a head counselor and works closely with staff and families. Gabby works year-round as a liaison for the camp and attends camp conferences and fairs in order to find new campers and staff members.

Reflection: While interviewing Gabby, I was initially overwhelmed by how carefully choreographed everything was and the fact that, months later, she had no issue recalling the exact guidelines and regulations that the government had put in place. She talked in depth about how many tests every person was required to have before setting foot on the property as well as the responses camp counselors, campers and families had to these requirements. Hearing Gabby’s voice is key to understanding just how matter-of act she had to be about things in order to work at the camp. This interview showed me how Gabby has managed her emotions about the pandemic in order to run a business while staying calm and sure during a year that came with so many challenges.
