Natalie Barry is a first-year student at Hampshire College. Her interests include psychology and politics. She is looking forward to studying abroad once the pandemic ends and it is safe to do so.
Lisa Shaw is a final-year student at University of Lincoln in Lincoln, England. She is studying politics in University. In 2019-2020 she studied abroad at Juniata College in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania.
Reflection: My interview with Lisa Shaw went really well. Although there were technical difficulties in the middle of the interview, it was very insightful to hear her perspective on life in the United States. It was interesting to hear about two different cultures, British and American, as well. Hearing her perspective about being in two different countries during a pandemic is important because it gives a first-hand account in how people in different countries react to the pandemic. Lisa’s opinions on North Carolina’s policies regarding COVID19 and her reactions really put into perspective how I am used to my culture and the way the American government runs compared to how British government operates.
