Rob Salladay: I am a first-year student at Hampshire College. I am from New York but I have UK citizenship and family in England. I am currently interested in philosophy: I enjoy attempting to answer ethical questions that I find in philosophical readings as well as those that arise during my daily life. I am also interested in the science behind mental health disorders.
Luke Nuttall: “I was born in London. I am now working close to where I grew up. At the moment, I am a Pediatric Specialist doctor. I have also worked in Adult Medicine in my previous training. At the moment, I am working at St. Mary’s Hospital, which is in London.”
Reflection: I really enjoyed the interview and was glad to be given the opportunity to interview my cousin, Luke. I was able to ask Luke questions that related to my current interests at Hampshire: ethics and science. Luke enjoyed getting a chance to discuss his work as a doctor during the Pandemic and I found it very valuable to record these answers for future students and viewers. I liked listening to what he had to say and conducting the interview. However, I found the transcribing part of the assignment to take away from the project. As a slow typist, it took a lot of time. On another note, I found it very valuable to have Becky review the questions before my interview. I’d like to thank her for the help during the process.
