They will discuss ideas around portraiture as it pertains to art history, while traversing social and climate issues.<\/p>\n<p>In this project, Dyer asks: what is the function of art during the Anthropocene?*<\/p>\n<p>Dyer renders images that connect us to each other and to the planet via the vehicle of water in portraits that transcend socially-constructed categories of gender, age, nationality, class and race, using a process that combines chance and data.<\/p>\n<p>*The Anthropocene is viewed as the period during which human activity has been the dominant influence on climate and the environment.<\/p>\n<h4>Hampshire College Chorus Gathering<\/h4>\n<h5>3\u20134 p.m.<br \/>\n<i>Under the Charles and Polly Longsworth Solar Canopy near the Music and Dance Recital Hall<\/i><\/h5>\n<p>The Hampshire College Chorus has always brought together faculty, staff, and students. If you get stumped, be sure to come back on Saturday for a guided puzzles tour!<\/p>\n<h4><em>Coded Bias<\/em>: Screening and Q&amp;A with Director Shalini Kantayya 94F<\/h4>\n<h5>3:30\u20136 p.m.<br \/>\n<i>Main Lecture Hall, Franklin Patterson Hall<\/i><\/h5>\n<p>As artificial intelligence technology engrains itself more fully into our daily lives, from smart watches to facial recognition software, how to we protect our civil liberties and fight the discrimination and bias embedded into these tools? <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hampshire.edu\/news\/2021\/03\/29\/alum-filmmaker-shalini-kantayya%E2%80%99s-newest-documentary-%E2%80%9Ccoded-bias%E2%80%9D-airs-on-pbs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><i>Coded Bias<\/i><\/a> follows M.I.T.
