This image is the culmination of a day spent collecting key points from the NY Times relevant to our generational impact on society. Mixing headlines, pull quotes, pictures, and highlighted excerpts from articles, this collage catches its viewer in a number of instances, often overlooking the fine print. Upon gazing more closely, we see the transparency of the artist’s lens of what matters “today.” We also see the distortion of communication that the nationwide publication must paste together over a period of weeks days and minutes to produce what is and perceived as news. This piece combines awareness of changing climate, Black Lives Matter activism, movement and art, and the 2016 presidential candidacy.

All material is from the New York Times.
