Net Impact: Strategic Projects for Local Nonprofits, Board Involvement

Net Impact

The Net Impact Board Fellows program is a unique opportunity for Hampshire students. Selected students will be asked to attend at least one Board Meeting, to become engaged with a project designed by each Board, and to collaborate with a graduate student member.  These could be great CEL-2 projects!

For next semester, the local partner organizations and their projects are:

All Out Adventures, through outdoor recreation, promotes health, community, and independence for people with disabilities and their families and friends.  Project possibilities:

  • Develop grassroots marketing plan, video/photo editing, website design, OR create a manual to guide the Board of Directors.

The Literacy Project, provides adult basic ed programs and opportunities so members can engage meaningfully and equitably in the economic, social, cultural, and civic life of their communities.   Projects are:

  • Meet with site directors, staff and students while volunteering during class time or with programming needs in the office; track site needs and report at Board Meetings OR identify funding needs and match these with grants and other fundraising opportunities.

Multi-Arts, Inc, an innovative arts program for children ages 4-19, with a mission of inspiring, guiding, and educating youth in the performance and visual arts.  Projects:

  • Promote the program by connecting with schools to select children with artistic talents and financial needs; research institutions and individuals that can become donors and supporters.

Youth Action Coalition (YAC), which promotes youth empowerment through arts and social action projects.  Net Impact projects are both focused toward their “Lights, Camera, Youth Action” program.

  • Take on overall coordination for annual fundraiser event OR organize all aspects of an auction.

Deadline to apply is Monday, Dec. 16!  You’ll need two references who are willing to be contacted, one faculty and one work/internship, so ask now.
